WITH THE SIGHT of Bobby hunkered back in his chair, so relaxed, a raised glass in one hand, while the other tempted without words, Bleu’s reaction to him was hard to control.

He was hearing Bobby recount a story about some gambling and hunting trip he’d taken recently, but it was likely another lie to amuse. As if in complete indifference to his tale, those blueish-gray pupils of his were busy constructing a different narrative.

Bleu couldn’t discern whether it was the lighting or the cocktail, but those depthless orbs seemed magnetic. They flashed like high beams on a dark country road and all but whispered to the things they wanted to do intimately with him, making him uncomfortable.
