I was lying in the sand, surrounded by Alex and his pack. Somehow Jack was there too. I was completely naked, ready for every alpha. “Thirsty?” he asked, leaning an elbow against the counter.

“You didn’t have to get out of bed,” I said in a low voice.

“I sleep with one eye open, baby,” he said. “I know everything that goes on around here. Why are you awake at this time?”

“I had a nightmare,” I said hastily, choking on the water when it went down the wrong pipe. He quickly approached me, patting me on the back until I could regain my bearings. “Ugh, sorry.”

“What was the nightmare about?”

“Nothing,” I said, setting the glass cup on the counter and turning away from him. If he saw my pink face, he’d know something was up.

“If you don’t tell me….”

“Then what?” I challenged, rinsing the cup in the sink.
