Lucy and Scott played with the dogs a little, before taking them out all for a walk and run around the woods before darkness fell.

It gave her a chance to really get to know them.

ET was the most excitable. Lou Lou sniffed around a lot; Lucy could tell she wanted to be out on the hunt.

She was otherwise content, but she wasn’t going to be happy being trapped behind a fence for long. She needed more space and attention.

Berry was perfectly happy though. He had space, shelter, the open woods and two very familiar faces. Plus, he was getting all the food he wanted. He was in heaven.

The abandoned Akitas were a different story. Their fur was dirty and they were thin; clear signs of neglect.

A few more days with good food and some loving care and attention would perk them right back up though.

Now Lucy picked up one of the little furballs. “Does this guy have a name?” she asked Scott, as she cradled the pup who wriggled about as she scratched his stomach.

“I haven’t had a chance to name them yet. I figure whoever gets them might want to do so themselves.”

“Good point.” Lucy nodded determinedly. “OK, let’s get you guys all prepped and ready for a brand new life.”
