Getting instructions for your next moves

If you follow the steps in the preceding section, you’ve successfully landed your aircraft. Great job. But don’t start celebrating yet. After all, you’re still on the runway.

After you touch down and slow down your aircraft, you need to taxi off the runway so that the next aircraft can land. Reach out to ATC and get taxi instructions. Oftentimes, the instructions lead you to a gate where you can pull in and complete the flight (as shown in Figure 9-9). If you’re flying a smaller aircraft, you may be directed to personal hangers where you can stash your aircraft or prepare for the next flight.
